HARRISBURG OLD FASHIONED 4TH OF JULY

The biggest event in Harrisburg is the Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration.  Get a good nights rest on July 3rd so you can be ready for activities on July 4th that begin in the morning and do not end until the glow of fireworks fades.

Harrisburg still honors our nations birthday today much the way it was done a hundred years ago--and we hopefully will be doing it the same way in another hundred years!

Food, parade, games, vendors, free entertainment and of course fireworks.  Friends, family, and fun.  That is what a community 4th of July should be!

2013 Parade Theme:    "Our Heroes"

2013 Grand Marshall's: Veteran's, Past & Present

We are honoring veterans this year, of any age, and any action.  If you'd like to be in the parade, or know someone who might like to be in the parade, please contact Michele Eldridge at 541-995-6655.  A horse drawn trolley will be available for those not able to walk in the parade.  We will have signs available indicating which war or action you participated in.  Please come and join us, and let 10,000 people show you all how much we appreciate you!

Fireworks start at dusk! (9:30/9:45)

The 4th of July Celebration is organized by the Harrisburg Festival and Events Association.  The fireworks and activities are supported entirely by donations from generous individuals and companies.  If you would like to donate to help us put on a great celebration, please contact Rhonda Giles at  Pacific Source, 541-684-5281.  If you are a vendor who is interested in vendor booths, or the Marketplace, contact Michele Eldridge, City of Harrisburg, 541-995-6655.  For parade information, contact Chuck Cook, Community Citizen, 541-998-1345. 4th of July Shields Minimize

Have you seen the great 4th of July Shields that are put up every year on the City streets?  To get a shield with your business name, or family name on it, please contact either Trevor or Christie Oakerman, at 541-995-8007.  Shields are only $20, and the money raised goes to the fireworks and 4th of July events.  There are only 15 empty shields available for names this year. They will be available until sold out.

Business shields are typically put on the highway, or near the business, while family shields are up and down Smith St. This year, they are scheduled to go up in the beginning of June/end of May.
