Council Member Kim Downey
Title: City Councilor
Name: Kim Downey
Current Term: Jan 1, 2023 to Dec 31, 2026
Council/Government Experience: Kim has served the City of Harrisburg since 2004. She started her service with the City on the Library Board. She was appointed to the Planning Commission in March of 2003, and then appointed to City Council on April 14, 2004.
Current Committee Assignments: Kim has been on the Personnel Committee since 2004, when she was appointed to City Council. She became the Chairperson in 2005, and remains the Chairperson to this day. Kim also served on the Government Committee, from May 2004 until it was discontinued. She is also a member of the Harrisburg Budget Committee.
Kim Downey has lived in the City of Harrisburg since 1998. She has raised two sons who graduated from Harrisburg High School and has grandchildren who are also Harrisburg residents. She's employed as a Human Resources Specialist and office assistant for a local farm. In her spare time she enjoys attending church, buying and selling collectibles, crafts, traveling, learning new skills and experiencing new adventures.
