Social Games Licenses

What is a Social Game?

A Social Game means a game, other than lottery, between players in a private business, private club, or in a place of public accommodation where no house player, house bank, or house odds exist, and there is no house income from the operation of the game.

A business or individual that wishes to hold poker or black jack tournaments, or any other kind of game, must apply for a social games license.  The person who applies will be subject to a criminal background check; a recent picture and valid government issued ID will be required.  There are specific performance standards that are required for a social game.  These can be found in Harrisburg Municipal Code 5.15.060.

Please contact the City Recorder/Assistant City Administrator or the City Administrator for information in regards to social games licenses.
