Harrisburg Library Board Open Positions

The Library Board currently has two open positions.  One term ending June 30, 2027 and the other June 30, 2028.  To apply please submit an  application available below.  The positions will remain open until filled.  

The Library Board is an advisory board to the City Council. The board's primary responsibilities are:

  • To formulate rules and policies for the library
  • Review and recommend to the City Council needed library services
  • Recommend appropriate dues and fines for library services
  • Formulate and approve Library Program Suggestions

The Library Board is comprised of five members appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The terms of office are four years with at least one open position every year.

We invite the public to come to our meetings, and be part of making our Library great for the community!   We always welcome people to come and be involved in our meetings...you don't have to be a member to want a great Library, and your feedback is a wonderful resource for us!
