Eagle Park Work Party, May 13th 9:30am to 2:30pm

Eagle Park Work Party-Saturday May 13th
First Eagle Park Work Party! On Saturday, May 13, 2023, (rain or shine) between the hours of 9:30am and 2:30pm, everyone who wants to be part of our grass roots efforts on the nature trail are invited for a work party. Bring your own hand tools, (shovels, steel rakes, loppers, clippers, and gloves….if you bring multiple tools, please make sure to mark them with your name! (No gas powered equipment please)). Wear your work boots, and even though it will be hot, jeans or tough pants are recommended. (blackberries, thistles.....poison oak or poison hemlock are possibilities!) and be prepared to get dirty as we start building the first trail in Eagle Park. Both the dog park, and the pedestrian loop trail will be in the upper section of the park.
To get to Eagle Park (Currently undeveloped), take S. 2nd St. down to Sommerville Ave (in the south industrial area of town), and take the right-hand driveway (dirt road) at the end of Sommerville Ave, and drive down the dirt/gravel road to the park. While people are excited about work that is being done, please be aware that most of the work on the dog park will occur later in the summer and fall, as we can’t apply the grant money to work that has already been done. The trail, on the other hand, is something that we will be working on right away! We are all so excited about getting started on development on our wonderful new park.
We hope you can join us!
