Harrisburg 1st Annual Veterans Memorial
Calendar Date:
Repeats every year on the 13 of June 25 times.
Saturday, June 13, 2026 - 2:00pmAdd to your calendar:
Harrisburg's 1st Veterans Memorial falls on June 13th, 2026. This is an important date to Harrisburg, because 1st Lt. Russell Quinn, was killed during World War II on June 13th, 1944, when his plan was shot down outside of Breal-sous-Montfort, Brittany, France, after he was returning from a bombing run. Lt. Quinn was raised here in Harrisburg, in the same house that our Mayor now lives in.
Our Sister City, in Breal, celebrates this day every year. They celebrate how France was liberated by the United States and our allies. We are proud to make changes so that Harrisburg now recognizes our Veterans, as well as those serving now, on behalf of the United States of America!
