The Harrisburg Skatepark opened on December 7th, 2008. It is 11,000 square feet with sections for both street and bowl. It was designed and built by internationally known Dreamland Skateparks with input from local skateboarders. BMX bikes are allowed, but not with pegs.

The skatepark facility includes a a viewing area, picnic table and water fountain. There are restrooms nearby for pubic use at the Museum.

The skatepark was built thanks to the generous contributions of Bill and Lois Morse, Carolyn Claassen, Cal and Ruth Montgomery, Knife River, Harrisburg School District, and Eagle Plywood.
