Parks Committee

The Parks and Recreation Committee was an advisory committee to the City Council. The committee's primary responsibilities were to make recommendations to City Council on issues related to parks and recreation, parkland acquisition, development and design. 

The City Council has decided to disband our former committee's, and instead, will be focusing on four main projects that the City is working on as shown in the Strategic Plan for 2017-2021.  In the future, the City Council will likely be setting up Ad-Hoc or Citizen Advisory Boards when big projects come up.  When the City starts focusing on the 100-acre Park, we will likely be contacting people who have served on the committee, or who have a big interest in our Parks.  If you questions about our parks, or an interest in being on any future committees; please contact Brian Latta at 541-995-6655 or by email at blatta@ci.harrisburg.or.us.
